What to Expect:

When you first call Dabbs Rehab, you will usually be able to make an appointment for as soon as that same day. On your first visit our receptionist will ask you to fill out the requisite paperwork. If you would like, we can show you a six minute video to introduce you to chiropractic health care. After you have seen the film, the doctor will take your history and ask you what brought you into the office.
He or she will do a spinal and orthopedic examination to determine whether chiropractic is an appropriate treatment for you. If it is found that x-rays would be helpful, as they are in most cases, we will take them in the office. If you are in acute pain, as happens occasionally, we will treat you with physical therapy modalities, a chiropractic adjustment or both.

Your second visit, which is usually within a couple of days, is a visit we call your Report of Findings. The doctor will explain what he or she found during the examination, go over your x-rays, present you with some options for treatment, and answer any questions you may have. If you and the doctor agree that chiropractic is an appropriate treatment for you, you will begin immediately. Sometimes physical therapy modalities are also used as a helpful adjunct to your healing process. Exercise programs are often suggested as you progress through your treatment program. Patients may often need to be treated several times per week to experience the maximum effect of chiropractic care.

You can schedule a series of appointments before you leave our office. Any financial questions you may have will be answered as fully as possible on your second visit. On subsequent visits you will participate in having an adjustment and some or all of these therapies:

electrical stimulation, ultrasound, traction, exercise, heat and ice.

Regarding insurance coverage, please note: If you have health insurance, (or car or worker's compensation insurance depending on the circumstances) we will verify your chiropractic coverage, usually by your second visit. Any referrals that are necessary will be your responsibility to obtain. It is our office policy that copays are taken care of at the time of each visit unless other arrangements are made with our patient coordinator. We do accept patients who do not have chiropractic coverage as well.
